Artistic Director: Nicolas GhesquièreLocation: The TWA Flight Centre corresponding to Terminal 5 of the John F. Kennedy airport in New York, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1962. Nicolas Ghesquière confirms his love for architecture by choosing as the location of his show, this real jewel with rounded curves unfolding like the wings of a bird according to the wishes of the architect, which will become a hotel in the future. A podium with two levels made "tropical" with the addition of trees and green plants.Collection: It appears to be a continuation of the ready-to-wear collection presented in Paris at the beginning of March with an 80s spirit, this time using New York City as a background and mixing genres between new wave and pop, sportswear and chic. Short cape jackets zip-up and finish in sequined frills, trousers possess band details on the side and colourful kneepads. Tops become architectural pieces with balloon sleeves, pleated and frilled effects, contrasting materials (velvet, leather, lace) and colours that finally match well with subtle embroideries. The street culture and melting pot defining New York City is not far with its heroes. It reminds us of an early Madonna, with short miniskirts and short jackets printed with buildings of the Big Apple, Wall Street uniforms through comfortable suit trousers and the heroes of Gotham City appearing through futuristic accessories such as fine glasses and a bag composed of supple screens with connected accessories.Note: The multiple celebrities presented on the front row (Alica Vikander, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Connelly, Julianne Moore, Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, Léa Seydoux and Willow Smith…)+ the model’s beauty looks: beehive hairstyles, enhanced blusher and red lipstick.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
