Hyères Festival 2017 : Meeting with Bertrand Guyon, president of the fashion jury

The day before the opening of the 32nd Hyères Festival, Bertrand Guyon, style director of the Schiaparelli house and president of the fashion jury of the Hyères Festival 2017, reveals his role, his vision of fashion and on the new generation of designers. Interview with Bertrand Guyon :It’s a festival that discovers talent, some which are even known today. It’s both a responsibility and for me a real exercise because that will be the first time I’m participating as a member of the jury in a festival setting. On around 300 files, there was a first selection of 50 files, on these 50 files, together the jury and myself, selected 10 candidates, so it was also necessary to select according to what spontaneously returned on to the silhouette. The creative pertinence, the impact, the strength which was given off, also perhaps the concept which had behind. It’s also good that there are files of men’s fashion, women’s fashion and also the files which are between the two, that is to say that we have the impression that there is also a true sensitivity and direction, towards something a little bit asexual. This generation of designers are going to express themselves in a little bit of a different way in this decade who are going to come perhaps in 2020, I’m not sure, for now we are still in a type of period between the two, so voila, that’s how I feel. The task that the future winners will face is quite considerable today, it’s also a whole concept which must be consistent with the brand, consistent with its own DNA, which is also adapted or marketed to the demand of diverse and varied requirements, it’s quite complicated.Music Bandit & Nikit / 2017
